Swiss International Air Lines offers 30 daily flights to Switzerland from the UK. Basel, Geneva
and Zurich are served from London City; Zurich and Basel from Manchester; plus regular
flights from London Heathrow, Birmingham and Dublin to Zurich alone.

From its Zurich hub, Basel and Geneva international airports, Swiss’ 73-aircraft fleet serves
71 destinations in 42 countries around the world. The company is expanding its route network,
with the recent addition of three new destinations at the end of March: Florence, Sofia and
St Petersburg. In May, Swiss launched its route to the business metropolis of Shanghai,
complementing the airline’s existing services to and from Hong Kong.

Flying via Zurich, travellers can take advantage of thrice daily services to Florence, plus daily
services to Sofia and St Petersburg. Florence is home to sizeable industrial and service
sectors, which should generate business-travel traffic too, ideal for city workers.

Sofia, Swiss’ third new European destination from Zurich, is currently seeing above-average
economic growth. Geneva receives a seventh daily frequency from London City, a daily service
from Istanbul and a thrice-weekly service to Bucharest.

New flights to Shanghai provide a daily connection with mainland China and should further
raise Swiss’ presence in the growing Chinese market. Since 2005 trade volumes between the
China and Switzerland have increased by almost 50 per cent.

Swiss is also investing substantial funds in revamping and expanding its airport lounge facilities.
Having opened new lounges at Geneva and New York JFK, Swiss has now turned its attention to
its Zurich Airport hub with the arrival of the new airside First Class Lounge.

The new 650m2 lounge has been specifically designed to offer maximum privacy to guests, and
features separable VIP areas, business offices with state-of-the-art laptops (including free internet
connections) and dayrooms with showers, so visitors can work undisturbed or simply rest and relax.
